Haste makes waste! More viewers and perhaps more followers will come. Especially since I'm listed in even more blogrolls now and sometimes appear on blog networking sites. BIG thanks to Colonel Shofer for his work of collecting all the different stuff from the blogosphere, House of Paincakes for the featuring in the weekly tops some times ago and aaaaall the other great (networking) sites out there.
Damn, these pills are going to make my posting somewhat different... Time to get to a dentist.
Thoughts about the future
So I just sat down and thought about the future of this blog a bit and will do some changes on it in the (near) future. The first thing you sure will have already noticed is that I changed the layout of the blog. This is because I blog and surf most of my time with my tablet:

Therefore I wanted to optimize the layout and sort my stuff a bit for better user experience (hope my visitors think as I do).
Following that I will include some few ads in the future (hope noone is offended by them, most users do have adblockers so I think it will be no real problem and i placed them below the important content). Ads because I think the reviews of products have a big impact on my views and if I get the chance to get a small cheque even once a year this would mean I could buy a product to review.
Another thing I want to change is showing some miniatures on a more regular base. Yes that means I have to paint more and perhaps getting finally one playable army painted (which opens me also the possibility to attend tournaments). But for this I have to find the time (and make my working place a bit more cat safe, I will show you why later) and the joy. Both are at the moment somewhat scarce and I hope this will change soon. Which leads me to...
Distractions
Oh yes, procrastinating from procrastination... Miniature painting and terrain crafting should be to relax and calm down after work. But with working days of sometimes 13-14 hours (which will now be less often I hope) this is rather difficult, as I come home, eat something, have a chat with my wife and fall down to sleep. Therefore I really have to force me sometimes to do stuff. Which leads again to demotivation and letting everything rest. And blogging also costs a lot of time (but if I get comments on my posts this is worth it).
Then we have some wild, six months old, maine coon tomcats. And oh my they try out things at the moment... Sometimes I think they are rabbits or guinea pigs, because they gnaw on every cable they find. And they raid our working table sometimes. Luckily most of the time with no effect, but sometimes...

If you have read everything that pured out of me: Thanks and Chapeau! This was again a more personal thing, the more objective stuff is in making. I already prepared the next part of my HowTo series for the gaming table and the tower and am preparing something for the gallery (some not raided and killed Skaven already look at me with their pointy noses and glowing eyes).
Stay tuned!
So long,

Nice post mate.. and hopefully you find time to get more painting done.
ReplyDeleteAlso I really like your posts on HowTo's.. it is what I keep coming back for ;)
Let me know how it goes for blogging via tablet. I have tried, and failed to do it myself, so only read the occasional blog from it now.. most of the surfing is from work between meetings ;)
Since this is a 10" tablet, writing, preparing posts & comments and administrating things works fine.
DeleteThe biggest problem is that you still need a mouse to embed images, links and all this dynamic stuff for your layout. At least if you want to work somewhat effective.
P.S.: I do this since about 3-4 weeks and I'm really happy with it. On my smartphone blogging (even with the blogger app) really sucked.
P.P.S: Yeah I have to think of some more HowTos for the future, my two series are going to an end. I'm happy that you like them :)
Congratulations buddy !!!
ReplyDeleteSorry I have been so tardy, but you can see what I have been up to (and still am !!!) :)
Well done again and here is to many more :)

Haha yeah, sometimes I ask myself when you sleep, since you seem to post nearly every hour something you find :-) I am looking forward to your cardboard compendium, since I also have two more papercut buildings to complete.
DeleteTis coming :)
