FFotW - Insane Projects

Shame on me, this series received not too much love recently! Therefore today's Friday Finding of the Week will not contain only one project as usual but the multiple projects I came across on the last weeks.

But first I want to thank you all for the recent activity on my blog. All those comments keep me going and my mind is running with ideas how I can achieve things and what to paint next (most likely it will be a Mantic Forge Father Hailstorm cannon). And I am preparing some throw away pieces where I can practice weathering before I completely ruin my Ramshackle Drill :) But enough chit-chat for know, lets come to the model madness!

The start makes the very beautiful Drow Dark Elf army from Cult of Khaine. On his blog you will find even more Dark Elf madness for example some WIP posts to the Drow army or some terrain pieces like this Temple of Blood or Dark Elf tower.

For anyone who doesn't know what Drow in this context are: Drow are an evil elven kin from Dungeons & Dragons. One of the most famous (and not so evil) characters is Drizzt Do'Urden.
So Drow are not to be mistaken with the Trow, the mystical troll-like fairy creatures of Scotland.

From the Dark Elves to their future kin, the Dark Eldar. Taro Modelmaker (Facebook Profile) showed an awesome display for Armies on Parade this year. With his display of a Dark Eldar force appearing from a Webway Portal he not only showed some craftsmaker insanity but also won the contest.
On his Facebook gallery (you don't need to be registered to see it) you will find more pictures of this awesome display piece.
In his photo stream you will also find some WIP shots and even more Dark Eldar pieces.
He also uploaded a video of the gateway itself on Youtube.

If this is how the Dark Eldar invade planets, holy moly that really is scary!

Talking of scary. Ever thought of Necrons with Pumpkinheads? Me neither!
But Rafal Maj did and presents us an awesome Lychguard unit, fitting to Halloween today. In his CMON gallery you will find some more pictures of this crazy idea. He also did some Crypt Horrors in the Halloween scheme
You can also find an uploaded short video of this unit on Youtube.

On his website you will also find many more nicely painted miniatures, so maybe you want to risk a look.

And there was this nicely painted High Elves army from Cristina Piras. Although I can't stand the whimsy brothers of my Dark Elves I must admit that this army is really beautiful. So colorful and clean. And the idea with the different models for the different colors of magic is very cool.
If you have some time left, you could also take a look at her blog. Some nice miniatures are shown there.
And she also has her own Youtube channel.

Ok that's it for today. Enough shout-outs and linking for one day. I have some more crazy projects to show in the pipeline, but that is something for another FFotW :) Hope you found something you also liked.

So long,
Paradox0n

P.S: I took most of the pictures directly from the owner's pages. All copyright belongs to them!
